Our Portfolio: Chelsea, SW10
I have known Raki and RMR since 2010. Initially RMR did some minor modifications to my flat and I was impressed with the quality and timeliness of the work. In 2013, I decided to undertake a complete strip out and refit of my flat. I appointed RMR in March 2013 and we spent around three months planning the project in detail. RMR took charge of detailed drawings and the planning process with the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. Planning permission was achieved at the first time of asking and RMR kept me updated on developments at all times. RMR acted as both the project manager and main contractor. The work involved was extremely extensive. It included installing full wet underfloor heating (and thereby removing the existing central heating system), structural modifications to internalise some hallway, new electric wiring and lighting system throughout the flat in addition to new bathrooms and a kitchen. RMR was able to source many materials with significant trade discounts and they were fully responsible for all joinery work including a bespoke built kitchen and bespoke wardrobes and TV installations. Work commenced in late August 2013 and was completed ahead of schedule by November 2013. Most other project managers were quoting times in excess of six months. The quality of work (as shown in the photos) was first rate. In particular I feel that I made the right decision to go with custom built joinery. Although it may have been a marginally more expensive option, the result compared to an off the shelf product is very stark. In addition to being ahead of schedule, RMR distinguished itself in many ways. Firstly, the level of detail and consultation throughout the process was incredible. Raki and I had bi-weekly meetings at his request to make sure that everything was configured to my satisfaction. His workers are incredibly friendly and polite in addition to being very skilled and often they anticipated problems before they arose. At completion, I was given a full set of legal documents to conform with all building regulations. In the weeks after completion, there was only one minor snagging issue which RMR resolved straight away. I have subsequently sold my flat for a price in excess of my expectations. I had four competing offers all of whom were swayed the quality of the fit out. RMR also kindly offer to retouch up the flat at no extra cost once the new buyer had moved in. All in all, I cannot recommend RMR highly enough. The quality of work is incomparable to other work that I have seen and Raki provides shrewd advice on where to invest and where to save money. I will be using him to refit my new house in the coming year.
